Riddlesdown parkrun fifty-one (Juneathon day 2)

Now that I have my parkrun 50 club t-shirt I no longer have to spend ages trying to decide what to wear when I go to a parkrun.

The t-shirt doesn't get folded up and put in the wardrobe like the rest of my running tops. It has a special hanger right next to my race medals, and that's wear it lives in-between parkruns.

Riddlesdown parkrun 51 and Juneathon 2012, day 2.

As is normal for me these days, I lined up at the back and started very slowly. At Condon corner I had my first ever mid-parkrun handshake as Mark, who was marshaling, congratulated me on my 50 runs at Riddlesdown - which I completed last week.

I am trying to save my legs because not only did I run this parkrun, but I am planning to run at Riddlesdown again on Monday and then at Nonsuch parkrun on Tuesday - who are both putting on extra events over the Jubilee weekend. Hopefully my old* friend Terry ('athoners will know him as @rencestar or runReNcErun) will be joining me for one or both of them.

Mrs7t and baby7t were marshaling at the 1.6/4/5km point, and although I waved at them as I passed, the baby looked at me like I was some kind of crazed madman waving at a complete stranger in the middle of a park (apologies if you are a crazed madman - no offence intended).

My half-way time was about 12:50 or something pretty close to that. I must have sped up slightly during the second half, and I finally strolled across the finish line in 24:08.

I made sure that I got some stretching in, just as the physio had advised earlier in the week. I then went off to take my parkrun photo of the day, which worked out to be this:

After that we made our way to the Horseshoe for much yumminess (cake) and coffee. I also processed the results - with the expert guidance of Nicki, event director.

I will add some more photos when they are available, but for now here are the Juneathon day 2 stats...

Day 2: Run - 5km (24:08)

*He's not really that old. :p
