M&S Plant Kitchen: Vegan Southern Fried Tenders - ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Made from a pea protein and coated in a southern fried breadcrumb coating. The flavour of the breadcrumbs was really good. The chicken part was also good - not the best, but still made for a nice meal.
Asda: Plant Based - Meat-Free Korean Style Chicken Wings - ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
246g / Chilled / £2.35
These are 8 nugget-shaped chicken style pieces made with soya protein and spices. They have a breadcrumb coating and come with a sachet of Korean BBQ Style Sauce. They were very nice. The sauce had a smoky barbeque flavour with a fiery element. Very enjoyable - I would happily buy these again.
Asda Plant-based: Buffalo style wings - ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Chilled / 250g / £2.50
The chicken part of this seemed pretty good, no complaints. Be warned - these extremely fiery. The bread crumbed pieces themselves are pretty spicy, but when you add the accompanying buffalo barbecue sauce, they are like eating pure fire. Really good if you love your food this spicy!
Plant Pioneers: Buffalo style wings - ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Chilled /
Just like the Asda version, the chicke-y part of this is pretty good. The batter on these is not as fiery as the Asda version, so may be better if you prefer a slightly tamer version. The accompanying dipping sauce was fiery, but you can just choose not to dip if it's too much. Another good option!
Quorn: Vegetarian Nuggets - ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (not vegan)
Frozen / ??? / ???
The Quorn vegetarian nuggets are really tasty - probably the best I've tried. Great texture and flavour. However they are not vegan, so have to lose a star (ie these would be five stars if they were vegan).
